Comment Protocol
The primary goal of the IEInternals blog is to convey useful information in a lightweight way to audiences that might not otherwise come across such information. In support of that goal, community comments can be a useful way to increase understanding, provide context, or point out omissions or other errors.
However, comment systems are frequently prone to misuse or abuse, and poorly-moderated blog comments can waste everyone's time. To that end, and unlike the main IEBlog, the comment-policy on IEInternals is fairly draconian:
- Comments pointing out typos or similar errors are gratefully accepted, although they might be removed after the post is corrected.
- Impolite or Off-topic comments (e.g. those unrelated to the post) will be removed. Email me instead.
- "Meta" comments-- comments about comment moderation, and the like, will be removed.
- Comments which use language not suitable for all audiences will be removed.
- "Me too" comments which merely agree with prior remarks (without adding new detail) are likely to be removed.
