The information published in this post is now out-of-date.

—IEBlog Editor, 20 August 2012

On Thursday Jan 13th at 10:00AM PST we’ll be holding our regular monthly Internet Explorer chat with team members. See for details.
The focus of this chat will be currently supported versions of Internet Explorer and is an opportunity to interact with members of the product team getting assistance and giving feedback. We will not be discussing any planned features or schedule for future versions during this chat, you can rest assured that we have heard the request for details here and we will let you know when we are ready to discuss future plans.
Look forward to chatting with you.

I’ve noticed the chat transcripts take up to two weeks to be published. Is this because they need to be edited, and approved by a VIP?

You guys can be so suspicious it’s silly.

Anyone participating can take a transcript of the chat session. What would be the benefit of "editing and VP approval" when anyone who was there can post an un-edited transcript on their blog?

Publishing the transcript is handled by the team that hosts the chats for us. Last month it certainly took a little time, maybe because of the holidays. I’ll ask if they can post the transcript sooner this time. Bruce is correct that there is no VP approval involved, although I believe that there is an edit pass so that any obscenities get removed.

How about fix the PNG support instead of blogging and chatting?

  5. Anonymous says:

@Sceptical: Hopefully they will do both. (Fix PNG support and blog.)

Please please do not forget Outlook Express. It seems that Internet Explorer gets all the publicity: chats, feedback, everything.

What about Outlook Express? It needs improvements you know. It needs for example some free spam filters that the competition already has. What about Outlook Express? What about spam protection in Outlook Express?

    Hi Nektar,

Outlook Express is a separate team so we will not be covering it in our chat today. I’ll mention your request to them though.

    Sceptical, David,

Yes. Hopefully we can add support for requested features and blog/chat. We consider chats and blogs important so we are not too isolated from our customers. At the same time there are occasions when we go a few days without posting here on the blog because we are working on IE 🙂

Still no transcript. Does it really take three weeks to edit out obscenities? I’m really interested in what is happening with IE, but I find the level of real communication with the community frustrating.

yeah guys, get your priorities straight. stop working on fixing IE and get the transcript up! that is what really matters…
