Uncaging the leopard

Leopards shouldn’t be caged. And with a little help from Acrylic I’ve managed to set one free (well, in a virtual sense).

Acrylic is a great product for doing clever vector or bitmap based artwork, and if you’re that way inclined you can produce some pretty stunning effects. However it’s easy to forget that it’s actually great for cleaning up your digital photos too. And even a graphical simpleton like me can achieve results.

I found the clone tool particularly useful to clean up this picture I took on a recent trip to South Africa. This female leopard was in a cage and we were allowed to get pretty close, but of course the wire frame spoilt the picture.

But with careful use of Acrylic’s clone tool I was able to remove the wire and let her be seen in her full glory! Fantastic – I love technology.
