Touching is Good

I don't see any publicly available info yet (my lead PM had sworn us to secrecy til Sept 1 - which it is now, Redmond time). I wonder what I can say without getting Dooced. I'd better not chance it, since I'm already taking a ton of heat career-wise for not being a coder.

I'm a firm believer that testing is a skill of its own, and that coding is merely an adjunct, not a core component of testing. On the other hand, I work on the Tablet PC Platform (SDK) team, so you can't "see" or "touch" a lot of what I work on without getting your hands dirty with C#. *sigh* QA's job is built on a foundation made of water - if you don't swim fast enough, some young whippersnapper will dive in and take it from you. Oh, and the definition of "fast enough" changes daily.

A bunch of us on the Tablet PC team will be doing something for Channel 9 today. I'm not quite sure what it is, except that it involves video and getting my butt into the office during my week off. (one hand) Fame; (other hand) home improvement. I'll take the office most of the time this choice is presented :)

Oh yeah, don't miss next week's community chat!!!

Please don't Dooce me boss, I've been good! (I will post a followup to this entry when I have publicly available reference material to work from.)
