My buddy, Chris Hoyt (AKA RecruiterGuy) diverged from his usual writing topics (about recruiting, for recruiters) and talks about the flagrant misuse and half-a**ery exhibited among some job seekers trying to "network".

 LinkedIn engagement is it's own kind of screening process. The "Dear sir/Madam" people get archived, an articulate introduction gets reviewed, possibly forwarded.

Is it really *that* hard for folks to understand? If you don't have time to look for a new job, I recommend that you focus on the one that you have.
