Ugly is the new pretty

Looks like we consumers respond more favorably to commercial images that look like "us." This is all fine and good except when we are talking about politicians. I don't want a politician that's like me or worse (cheaters!). I mean, I get the product advertisement stuff. I am skeptical of anything that looks "too good." But there is a line to be drawn. I don't need clear skin or every hair in place. But I do want that car to be cleaner than mine and I do want the people making the rules to be smarter than me. Much.
