He who has the largest external talent pool to fish from wins

Or perhaps better put, "what's my motivation again for not recruiting your employees?"

From what I understand about Steve Jobs, it's all about him. All. About. Him. From the mouths of his employees, I heard this.

But wouldn't one, when asking to negotiate, at least consider the relative upside and provide a value proposition to the person sitting on the other side of the table?

A is for "Apple" and "audacity" and some other words.

Hmm, I don’t necessarily equate quantity with quality.  I must be missing something.

  2. HeatherLeigh says:

You make a good point, Will but I would assume that in this case, there is assumed quality at both companies given the circumstances and the outcome.

Second, please stop trying to use my blog for advertising for your company. It’s bad blog ettiquette. The url field is intended for referring back to *your* url meaning you personally. I can get over ppl using it for their company url most of the time, but I draw the line at people including it in their name. Most of us here work for companies but we are here for discussion not for blatant advertising. So please stop, otherwise, I will continue to edit your name field in your posts. I am sure you meant no harm, but I really don’t allow ppl to use my blog in this way.

The word "ginormous" was invented to describe Jobs’ ego. What a tool.

I apologize, I must have struck a cord (that I didn’t know I was playing).  I don’t have a personal URL but I will remove my company from my name.  It may have been better simply to email me this information.  I am not sure what your motivation is for making this part of the blog.  Public humiliation?

  5. HeatherLeigh says:

Will, it’s kind of common sense. And you may want to look back and notice that I have already asked you before in much fewer words. If you found that humiliating, perhaps playing in the blog space isn’t for you. Gotta have a bit of a thick skin.
