Song lyrics I heard today

You know how there’s a line in every song that sticks with you? Well, I have one for every song in my playlist…

I ain’t freakin’, I ain’t fakin’ this. Shut up and let me go….hay!

Take my hand and we’ll jump out the window.

When I’m with you, I feel fine, I lose my mind, I feel fine.

Can you handle me the way I’m R?

Fate, up against your will.

And it’s something quite peculiar….it leaves you here despite your destination.

I see the path that your eyes can go down. I want to go too.

A stronger girl would toss this off in flight and never give it more than a frowning hour. <ed note: thanks for noticing>

Who’s that casting devious stares in my direction?

You’re cool but there’s rain in your heart; you’re blown like a feather.

Brittle thorny stems, they break before they bend and neither one of us is one of them.

I want to feel the bomb drop, earth stop, ’til I’m satisfied

Now we grieve cause now is gone but things were good when we were young.

I should have known again, but here it goes again.

Well, I never meant to brag, but I got him where I want him now…It just feels so, so good.

I remember when I lost my mind. There was something so pleasant about that place.

I know I’m alone if I’m with or without you. But being around you offers me another form of relief. <ed note: oh, sing it sister!>

You got a lot of money but you can’t afford the freeway. You know it, I know it. Why don’t you just show it?

On the way down, I almost fell right through

One of these days I’ll finally be good and hide another mistake.

You’ve got no fear of the underdog, that’s why you will not survive.

Don’t stop, get it, get it. We are your captains in it.

Love will remain a mystery…it’s brighter than sunshine.

So we just stood the hallway sides, a phantom and a fly. Follow the lines and wonder why there’s no connection.

It’s like I’m perched on the handlebars of a blind man’s bike….just the rushing wind on a rolling mind

You’re not obliged to swallow anything you despise.

I’ll keep on rolling down this road but I got a bad, bad feeling. It’s gonna take a long time to run, gonna take a lot to hold on.

Lonely, and the only way to beat it is to bat it down.

I’m not saying it’s your fault but you could have done more. Oh, you’re so naive, yet so…

Wow, I never realized how dark my musical taste is. It doesn’t sound dark while it’s playing. Well, most of it. OK, well some of it.

Wow, that sounds like Sinead O’Connor in a "Dark Phase."

You need some happy, brainless, 80’s music. (am I dating myself)

  2. Wine-Oh says:

    Hmmm…. whats on your playlist?

Is this your song of choice for Karioke? :)

  3. HeatherLeigh says:

You guys don’t recognize a single line? Each one is from a different song.

Darren – I am over the 80s thing. Since I was there for the whole thing, I think I got my fill of the 80s in the 80s. If someone calls the 80s "classic", we have a problem.

  4. Not dark. Just complicated and challenging. These are lyrics that make you think. Who wants fluffy and mindless?

  5. Wine-Oh says:

Sadly no I don’t recognize a single lyric, unless you put the name of the song/artist next to it. Im someone who thinks he knows the words but ends up mumbling some other lyric.

  6. Bad_Brad says:

The weight that lays on your shoulders

Could be the wings that carry you home

I recognized quite a few individual lyrics and also realize I too must have dark musical taste.
