Overview

We are looking for a seasoned user interface designer and creative thinker for our next generation, cross platform innovation team. Are you passionate about design, software innovation and consumer entertainment products? Become part of a small but focused design team with the mission to deliver innovative, exciting and emotionally engaging user experiences across Microsoft’s Entertainment Platforms. We are looking for someone who thrives in collaborative team environments, is passionate about consumer focused innovation as applied to UI design and is a versatile and proactive individual contributor. You are comfortable contributing to idea & scenario generation and concept development and will work closely with the team to visualize, develop and prototype new experiences in the digital media entertainment space. You must have a clear understanding of each facet of the design process. Proven experience in media application design, mobile communication design and innovative device UI is a key consideration for us.

Qualifications:

· 4-5 years work experience in UI design (software, web, other media), with an emphasis on User Experience and entertainment.

· Strong visual skills, excellent problem solving skills, the ability to work within a collaborative environment, and good communication skills

· User centered design process background with proven scenario development skills.

· Experience with rapid user interface prototyping in Director, Flash and PhotoShop.

· Experience with human interface and navigation models, and a solid understanding of the interaction between hardware and software.

· Ability to develop information architecture, wire frames and software UI.

· Experience shipping innovative and complex products within deadlines.

· Good understanding of entertainment applications, mobile communications and community applications.

· Knowledge of new technologies, authoring environments and computer graphics tools preferred.

· A bachelor’s degree in UI design, Interaction design or related discipline is required.
