Eat it!

What do you do when your company accidental sends out hundreds of thousands of $4 checks to it's customers? Seriously, what else can you do? Just eat it.

Though I suppose it depends on the size of the company and their marketing budget (but I'm guessing that a company with hundreds of thousands of customers values them more than $4 each).

Seth recommends that lawyers act more like marketers because that is what they are. I say all employees are marketers and recruiters as well.

You are so right.  I have been in situations where I will not patronize a company just by how the employees act.

For instance, I called an insurance agency for a quote and was "greeted" by a woman with a very surly attitude.  I told her to tell her employer that she had just lost the company a potential customer.

Too bad Microsoft doesn’t believe in this.  They send out inferior, bug-ridden, insecure products.  They then provide "updates" (read trouble!) which harm your computer by causing problems with printers.  Talk about marketing!  There are such negative feelings about Microsoft because people are fed up.  Apple of course, doesn’t mind this a bit.

Apple with 3% of the desktop market? Um, Okay.

I’m not going to argue about our products (which are not developed by our marketing teams). If you think there’s a problem then there’s a problem. You should share some specific feedback with someone with a technical blog that has an impact on product development. That’s obviously not me….though I can tolerate a certain amount of venting.

Joseph, I don’t know who you talk to at Apple, but if you can give me their name……..

I have about 15 friends who have apples, and whenever they have a problem with the computer software or hardware it is like pulling teeth to get Apple to do anything.

If you ask me, when something Windows or Office breaks, I can usually troubleshoot it and fix it.  If something breaks on an Apple, I want to just shoot it.

    Windows/PC all the way.
