Director, Go-to-Market, Real Time Collaboration Team at Microsoft

Lead the development of the RTC Go-to-Market campaign in this critical new role! This senior leadership position is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing the RTC division GTM team to:

· Ensure we have a differentiated and compelling value proposition anchoring the RTC GTM
· Develop and deliver sales and marketing strategies, and supporting content, by segment, role, and region as part of delivery of the GTM
· Work closely across other business groups to align and integrated value propositions and content
· Engage with subsidiary BG leads to gather feedback and requirements to build the most relevant and usable GTM from a field deployment perspective
· Be the senior spokesperson on behalf of the RTC division for GTM strategy, campaigns, results, and best practice sharing
· As an extended member of the division leadership team, contribute thought leadership to the division’s long-term overall strategy

Senior Director – Office RTC Business Development

This is a great opportunity to join one of Microsoft’s hottest businesses - Real-Time Collaboration (RTC) Office and Office Live - to take on an executive role in accelerating the building of the next core business for Microsoft. Microsoft is looking for a highly motivated corporate-level business development leader with a passion for technology and the evolution of the real-time collaboration and communications sector (includes mobile services and enterprise data/voice/video communications). This position will help navigate Microsoft Office RTC’s future in Unified Communications.

As the leader of the RTC Business Development group, you will lead a senior-level business development team as a trusted advisor to senior executives and business unit managers in Office RTCadviser as well as across the Microsoft Business Division. The Business Development group is a central group for important strategic initiatives, new business deal incubations and in-bound and out-bound business development.

Your business development expertise and responsibilities will include: developing strategic proposals that lead to commercial alliances; technology licensing/acquisition or product implementation; developing a deep understanding of emerging opportunities; quantifying and executing on long-term growth and strategic plans; driving build-partner-buy analysis including the development of business cases and strategic fit plans; negotiating and executing key licensing, acquisition and market development deals; evaluating technologies; validating market development agreements to meet business goals; managing key partner relationships either directly or indirectly through partner relationship managers.

In this role, you will also have expertise and responsibility for driving key strategic initiatives and solving tough problems as required. These initiatives span driving revenue growth, developing competitive strategies and business models, rationalizing product portfolios, and managing for shareholder value. You will develop a deep understanding of emerging opportunities, quantify long-term growth and strategic plans that capitalize on industry trends, participate in the development of the RTC business plan and business models, and provide business leadership thinking for incubating RTC solution opportunities.

Successful candidates will have a proven track record of leading senior-level, successful business development teams, broad understanding of the software and online services industry (in particular communication solutions and services), working knowledge of intellectual property and business model issues and tradeoff points with respect to negotiating deals, demonstrated track record in strategic thought leadership, ability to solve unstructured business problems, strong energy, creativity and ability to manage results through high levels of change.

Solid relationship and communication skills in working with senior executives and product development, legal, corporate development, and finance organizations are a must. Prefer candidates who have recognized domain expertise in the Real Time Collaboration space ( i.e. enterprise VoIP / IPTel, carrier mobile services, IM, web / audio / video conferencing ). Candidates should have at least 12-15 years of post-college experience in areas directly relevant to the responsibilities described above. In addition, an MBA or JD and an undergraduate degree in engineering are preferred.

Director Office RTC Product Management & Strategy

Office RTC is looking for a highly motivated product management & strategy leader with a passion for technology and the evolution of the real-time collaboration and communications sector ( includes mobile services and enterprise data / voice / video communications ). This position will help navigate Microsoft Office RTC’s future in Unified Communications. This senior leadership position is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing the RTC division product management and strategy team to:

  • Ensure we have the right media devices & hardware ecosystem platform product roadmap to be a leader in the real-time collaboration and unified communications areas
  • Own business plans, product strategy, and product-line level revenue execution (incl. acquisitions/investments plans, product positioning, branding, pricing, packaging, etc.)
  • Consult with subsidiaries around the world to develop and refine marketing, sales & communications plans and deliverables
  • As extended members of the senior leadership team, contribute thought leadership to the division’s long-term overall strategy
  • Own product-line level positioning and be spokespersons to press, analysts, customers, and senior MS executives

In this role, you will have expertise and responsibility for driving strategic initiatives and solving tough problems as required. These initiatives span driving product/technology strategy, expanding product portfolios via R&D investments and partnerships with hardware ODMs/OEMs/CEMs, developing competitive plans and business models, and managing for shareholder value. You will develop a deep understanding of emerging opportunities, quantify long-term growth and strategic plans that capitalize on industry trends, own significant contributions to the RTC business plan and own strategic initiatives that grow the business.

Successful candidates will have a proven tracktrade off record of leading sroad mapenior-level, successful product management & strategy teams, broad understanding of the hardware and devices industry (in particular around enterprise/smb communication systems and mobile services), working knowledge of business model issues, demonstrated track record in strategic thought leadership, ability to solve unstructured business and product strategy problems, strong energy, creativity and ability to manage results through high levels of change.

To be considered, candidates must have a proven leadership track record in leading successful product management / strategy / marketing teams combined with creating and finishing consecutive, large projects that span multiple ship cycles. Ideal candidate is someone who is proven in rolling up their sleeves and diving deep, tackling issues and capitalizing on opportunities at a rapid pace. This position also requires strong written and oral communications skills, organizational agility, and strong analytical skills.

Candidates should have at least 10-15 years of post-college experience in areas directly relevant to the responsibilities described above. In addition, the successful candidate should have 5-7 years experience in coaching/management, including the demonstrated ability to drive non-reporting groups to perform. MBA or equivalent business experience combined with undergraduate degree in engineering is preferred.
