Senior Online Marketing Manager - Windows Mobile (144827)

The MED Audience Insight and Marketing Group (AIM) is looking for a talented online marketer to help bring our online marketing to the next level. AIM is the marketing and communications arm of the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division (MED) -- Microsoft’s smallest yet fastest growing P&L unit. We’re responsible for marketing Windows Mobile for Smartphones, Windows Mobile for Pocket PC, Portable Media Center, Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded to a broad range of audiences. AIM serves a central marketing function within the organization, comprising brand marketing, advertising, online marketing, events, audience-specific marketing, CRM and market research. Online Marketing Role

AIM is looking for a strong online marketing professional with depth in online marketing and broad general marketing experience to help transform our flagship property - www.microsoft.com\windows\mobile - from primarily a publishing/informational asset to a world-class online marketing engine. In this role you will lead our efforts to create a rich, interactive web presence for Windows Mobile. You will lead the integration of online with Windows Mobile Customer Connection (WMCC), which is MED’s umbrella relationship marketing system that will underpin all our marketing efforts throughout the customer lifecycle, from awareness and consideration to purchase, to loyalty and extension phases.

You will help build out a true loyalty destination for users of Windows Mobile devices that provides a set of rich, content offerings and multi-dimensional user experiences that excite and engage our users and bring them all they need to get the most out of their devices. You will utilize the online website experience to articulate the Windows Mobile story and product positioning through unique, audience specific offerings. You will lead our community efforts to allow users to create their own loyalty and learning opportunities through co-creation. You will lead our efforts to best leverage windowsmobile.com - the “front door” of the Windows Mobile business - to create this best in class loyalty and relationship marketing engine.

Required Skills

 

· Strong experience with online marketing within a technology or entertainment environment

· Direct experience creating interactive loyalty destinations and online communities

· Proficiency across other primary marketing disciplines

· Ability to develop customer insights from web metrics to shape the online experience

· Ability to create compelling online calls-to-action to drive user registrations and develop 1:1 relationships to support loyalty and retention efforts

· Direct experience marketing technology products to consumers

· Excellent operational and organizational management skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and stakeholders

· World-class verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and form virtual teams to drive results

Minimum Requirements:

All candidates must have a minimum of 10 yrs. experience in marketing, and 7 yrs. in online marketing. A proven track record in online loyalty destination creation is essential and knowledge of relationship marketing strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, scrappy, creative, and entrepreneurial, and deeply committed to helping build a world-class online marketing channel in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Candidates must have a BA/BS degree with an MBA strongly preferred.
