Want me to find your blog resume without the trouble of having to send it to me?

Link from your blog resume to this post and I'll check out your resume by reviewing my referrals. Pretty stealth, huh? Nobody needs to know except the 2 of us ; )

The funny part is that if we see it as a test of some sort, those who failed it will have their names plastered at the bottom of this post with no chance to remove them.

Bubs, she mentioned "stealth". PingBack is not stealthy 🙂

This is my first internation resume post!

    Good luck!

  5. Maurits says:

Um, I believe the intention was that you would link TO this blog FROM your resume… not the other way around.

I believe though that once you make the link on your blog, you also have to click it at least once. Only then will there be a referral.

  6. Heather says:

Maurits is right…I was talking about referrals, not trackbacks. But if you want to trackback, go for it ; )

Brant, I haven’t even visited your homepage yet…I guess this is a marketing opportunity, huh?

  7. This is gotta be one of the stranger things used for recruitment, although not nearly as cool as Google’s weird math puzzles on billboards. If you link to this blog entry from Heather Leigh, a Microsoft recruiter, she promises to…

  8. question says:

And if you do not have a blog? Is it okay to just link to an online resume?

  9. Heather says:

With regard to the last question, OK to link to an online resume or feel free to send it to me at heathham@microsoft.com

I’ve gotten lots of resume referrals so far and all of the technical ones I am going to share with the tech recruiters (wish I could provide feedback, but that’s not my area of expertise anymore). Thanks to everyone who has linked. This is fun!

  10. Tony Gentile says:

Hmm, not sure why I would like to you from my resume blog… but I’ve included its URL in the field above. ;p

  11. Matt says:

Interesting idea… wonder if they need any architect/sysadmin types?

  12. John Dowdell says:

heh, I almost opened up a new blog, just so I could run a "Discount Phenteremine" entry to mess with this whole referral plan here…. 😉

  13. Alen Siljak says:

Well, this just don’t make any sense at the moment but world goes round every day, so let’s see what happens. 🙂

  14. Heather at Microsoft is taking resume submissions via Trackbacks….

  15. Heather says:

John-someone with an escort service website beat you to it ; )

Alen- .Text tracks referrers separately from Trackbacks. If someone links to my blog, it comes up in a list on my admin page. So I can see their site (the originator of the link to my site) without it being visible in comments. Pretty cool

  16. Heather Hamilton, a senior recruiter for marketing talent at Microsoft, just did one of the most unusual recruiting ideas I’ve ever seen. Heather has asked her readers to link to this post from their blog resumes, and she’ll check out…

Christopher wonders if I will ridicule submitters of poorly written resumes. Here’s a tip…many of the best candidates have poorly written resumes….hmmm, there’s a blog post in there somewhere I think ; )

Am currently into Supply Chain Management. But seriously would be interested in Marketing opportunities with Microsoft.

  23. Dutch Driver says:

Heather, I am in the midst of a move back to Texas, so responses may be slow for 2-3 weeks.

  24. Pradeep says:

I have always been interested in marketing Mobile, embedded tech and have followed the Pervasive tech field from the enterprise-business sphere.

would love to work with the team though.

  25. Just in case anyone might still be looking for someone to fill a position, here is my resume….

  26. Oliver Starr says:

Aloha, Heather. Interesting idea this blog-linking resume acquisition scheme. You might get more resumes and traffic than you bargained for though!

Strange that I came across this just an hour after looking at start.com’s beta complete with the "hiring" link. I’d love to be considered for this team. In addition to my resume-blog, you might also check out my technology blog; my intense focus on convergence of technologies at the mobile handset level might be of use…

  27. So I’m a bit more than interested, I’m hooked! Heather Leigh’s blog has a post about submiting your…

Thanks for the insight into Microsoft and also your perspectives, since we can all learn from one another.

I haven’t been up to much lately. I’ve basically been doing nothing , but it’s not important. I can’t be bothered with anything recently. I’ve just been letting everything happen without me lately.

  32. Wedding guru says:

I think this is all marketing trick nothing else.

  33. HeatherLeigh says:

OK, person who linked to your business URL in your comment. Trying to sell wedding dresses on my blog? You got the wrong blog, my friend. I deleted the link so nobody would think it was "all marketing trick".

  34. ue40b7020 says:

really cleaver idea. Sorting my resume out at the moment.
