Uh-oh, something is amiss when parents ask about blogging

This week, each of my parents (separate households, different states) has asked me about blogging. OK, one of them referred to it as "flogging". One wanted to know what it meant relative to Dan Rather and the other asked what I have been working on (thanks for asking, Dad).

Not that I cover any controversial topics here, but it does feel a little different knowing that one or both parents is/are looking at my blog. This is how I know blogging is going mainstream (evidently, thanks to Dan Rather). I know, it's not scientific research, but it's a very real indicator for me.

I fear the day when my mom has a blog and starts talking about what she had for dinner (we have whole discussions on the topic of dinner, so this could happen...I'm just warning you) or what she bought at J.Jill.
