Where Software Product Managers hang out (online)

I hope to provide some information on great resources for technical marketers. In my role as Senior Talent Scout (kind of a talent finding cyber-sleuth), I come across lots of interesting people and sites in my research. One such site is the Software Product Management eGroup. I found this organization while doing a web search for marketing people. Can't really remember my search criteria, but I came across the resumeblog of Andrew Klein, which led me to the eGroup. Cynthia Typaldos founded the organization and is actively involved in promoting it as a vehicle to network among the high tech marketing community. Their site offers free resumeblogs, discussion groups, job postings, articles. It's really worthwhile to spend some time there. The first site of its kind that I found.

Incidentally, the group has spun off into a number of additional ProfGuilds for areas such as QA, Project Management and Software Engineering. Several of my fellow recruiters here at Microsoft have come across them in their web travels. We'll be keeping our eye on these folks and wish them much continued success in networking!
