Next Monday, February 25th, is the opening of HIMSS 08 in Orlando, Florida. If you plan to attend, I hope you will join us in booth 2247 to see firsthand how Microsoft technologies and solutions, and those of our partners, are being used to improve health around the world.
You've no doubt read the news about some of the exciting things going on at our company. The launch of HealthVault, our consumer-focused platform that is helping people find health information and securely connect, store and share their personal health data with whomever they want has been causing a buzz around the world. While the service is still in beta and only US residents can have a HealthVault account, HIMSS 08 is your opportunity to learn more about how HealthVault works as well as the partners, healthcare organizations, medical device manufacturers and others who are offering solutions on the platform. Executives and program managers will be on site to explain the current range of services offered on HealthVault and provide a vision for the future. Here's a link to my colleague Sean Nolan's blog, Family Health Guy, where you can read more.
We also had a big announcement last week about our Microsoft Amalga family of enterprise healthcare solutions. This portfolio of solutions includes Microsoft Amalga (formerly known as Azyxxi), Microsoft Amalga HIS and Microsoft Amalga RIS/PACS (formerly known as Global Care Solutions, Hospital 2000). At HIMSS, you'll be able to find out much more about these solutions, see demos, and hear from executives and managers in our Health Solutions Group.
I'll be there to kick off the opening Theater Presentation in our booth and highlight some of our other solutions for portals, caregiver and care team collaboration, and business and clinical intelligence. Please come by booth 2247 and say "hello".
