New laptop is up and running

Got my new laptop today around 3pm.  After spending ~2-3 hours, it's all ready to go.  Got all the tools I use on it (VS, Perl, NUnit, Office, etc.), my enlistments to the dev and test source trees, and all the loving it could get from Windows Update.  Overall, it took less than I expected actually.

The laptop is a Toshiba Tecra M2 with a 1.7GHz Centrino, 1GB RAM, 80GB HD, 64MB NVidia video card, and a 1400x1050 14.1” display.  It seems pretty solid but if there's anything that you'd think could be better, it would certainly be aesthetics.  It's basically a plain, small, somewhat thin, reasonably light box.  One of the devs on our team recently bought a PowerBook and wow is there a difference between them and the majority of the PC laptops out there.  Apple sure can make visually appealing hardware.  Their stuff just makes you want to use and play with it.  Having never used Apple hardware outside of tinkering with them at the Apple store and Apple II's when I was a kid, I've always wondered if that would wear off after a while.  Probably would some, but I have a feeling a lot of it lasts.

Anyway, it's the weekend, though outside of some pickup basketball and band practice tomorrow, there's a ton of work for me to get done before Monday.  Off I go...
