Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Extender Announcement

Last week an announcement went on PartnerSource about our plans with Extender.

More information will come in the coming weeks about some of the processes related to existing customers and new sales for Extender. A few of the key points for everyone to be aware of for now:

  • The product is being moved back to eOne. It’s still available and has a long life.
  • Any existing customers current on their maintenance plan December 1, 2012 will have right to Extender on Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013. They do not have to repurchase from eOne. They do need to connect with eOne to get the product.
  • eOne has partner agreements. If you don’t have a relationship with eOne, contact them now to get setup.
  • Microsoft will support Extender for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 through its product life cycle.

Now to the more important question. Why?

Extender will still be a strategic differentiator and there is no reason to stop selling it. eOne’s plans with Extender will offer more. They will be sharing product vision to you and I believe you will like it. So, it’s basically change without change. You place an order with eOne directly instead of Microsoft.

This move reflects our commitment to Marketplace as the vehicle we use to help Partners promote and other Partners/customers discover and buy solutions that add value to our own products. On average every customer has around five ISV products and the marketplace is the forum we want everyone to use.

 Now, go sell more GP.
