Migrant Resource Centre I.T Job Skills Trainers graduate at Microsoft

This week a group of graduates from a Microsoft Grant funded project were awarded their certificates at the Microsoft offices in Sydney.

In 2010-2011 Microsoft and WorkVentures committed to support migrants and refugees by providing them with the IT tools and resources necessary to fully participate in the Australian society, assist them in adapting to the Australian workplace culture and practices, and overcome the numerous obstacles on their pathway to employment.

Through the new i.settle.with.IT! program, WorkVentures developed a range of initiatives to provide specific resources to bridge the digital divide and assist this particular group to enter the Australian job market and workplace. To reach this goal, a diverse range of IT training options has been designed to suit the needs of different organisations and individuals.

The Train-the-Trainer workshops are designed for people from the migrant/refugee community who are already involved in supporting others or who are interested in delivering training to others.

This event was to celebrate the achievements of the participants of the first Train-the-Trainer course.
