The Microsoft Across America team has an immediate opening for a dynamic MSDN Developer Community Champion covering the Southern California region. The MSDN Developer Community Champion will take a leadership role delivering high impact, high quality presentations to Microsoft’s developer community over a wide geography. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to deliver up to 30 MSDN seminars and 25 MSDN webcasts per year. This position will be responsible for presenting compelling actionable scenarios which drive future .NET development to developer community audiences. This includes, but is not limited to the following activities: Deliver MSDN Community Development events, MSDN webcasts, support a virtual team in presenting to key developer user groups in territory, assist and support presentation and content resource for other Microsoft Developer events, work with Corporate and field resources to support .NET launch activities, innovate to drive local developer excitement, and deliver high quality developer presentations and demos. The MSDN Presenter will be required to deliver articulate and effective strategic presentations to audiences of all sizes and all levels.
Core technology expertise for this opening includes a thorough understanding of: the Microsoft .NET strategy and associated technologies such as VB.NET, C#, VC++.NET, ASP.NET, XML, SOAP, UDDI, COM+ and MSMQ, as well as software design and development methodologies; expert level skills in regard to development with Microsoft.NET in multiple programming languages, as well as knowledge around relevant competitive technologies (e.g. Java, J2EE, PHP, CORBA, BEA, Web Sphere, etc.). Responsibilities include: managing, and owning the successful presentation of end-to-end scenario based demonstrations to the developer community; contributing to a high-caliber virtual team; sharing best practices; and influencing product and content development. Preferred qualifications include: Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline background, 7 - 10+ years developer experience; strong expertise with development solutions; exceptional leadership, negotiation, organizational, creative, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills; position will require 50-75% domestic travel. This position will report to the Microsoft Evangelist Manager.
