A good day

Today was a good day. Although I woke up early to catch a flight from Atlanta to Raleigh, NC, I took a new way to the airport that, although it’s a few miles longer, actually let me get to the airport traffic free. In Raleigh, I found my way easily (and was actually very early) to the SAS Institute, where I gave a lunch and learn presentation on what’s new in mobile development with Visual Studio 2005. Altough there were only 6 or 8 people, they were very receptive and full of good questions.

After a leisurely lunch at Schlotzky’s Deli (mmmm… Original on sourdough) I spent several hours with the folks in the Raleigh Microsoft office who work on part of Visual Studio Team System. I got some good insight into what they do for the product, and saw cool demos of the source code management tools for Team Foundation, as well as the web test tool – both totally rock!

Then, I presented the mobility in VS2005 talk at the Triangle .NET User group, always a good group to speak for. A quick drive brought me to the RDU airport, and as I wait to board my flight home I am glad to have opportunities to teach as well as learn today.

I’ll post the slides and demo code for that session later this week, so check back then.
