Webcast Friday 3/18: Building Applications for the PocketPC

I'm doing a cool intro webcast on mobile development today. Bill Steele will be my sidekick, answering questions and giving his opinions as well.

In this webcast, you will learn how to develop Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC applications using Visual Studio .NET and the .NET Compact Framework. Beginning with a discussion of how smart device development is integrated into the Visual Studio environment, we will then compare and contrast the Compact Framework with the standard desktop .NET Framework. Learn how the Pocket PC's form factor influences user interface development, and how smart device applications can benefit from Web services. We will also examine the data access APIs best suited for working with SQL Server and SQL Server CE, and show how to use Platform Invocation Services (PInvoke) from a device application to make use of code in unmanaged DLLs.

It's at 2:00 PM Eastern time.
