Tech·Ed - Day 1

This week I'm here in San Diego for Microsoft's TechEd conference. The day began with a keynote from Steve Ballmer. Steve really put forth Microsoft's position on how we are continuing to drive innovation, but at the same time creating infratstructures that allow easy interoperation. And how we are laser-focused on security. He also featured several folks from Redmond, who showed off several interesting new technologies. One of them was Visual Studio Team Services, which is a terrific way to manage not just the construction but also the testing and deployment of enterprise applications. I found it exciting that many of the tools we've written internally to help us write more secure code are being made available to developers who use our tools.. Also, Becky Dias gave a walkthrough of the recently released WSE 2.0 as well as something new called Internet Bridge Framework, which enables you to enhance the Office applications with GUI elements that can consume Web Services easily.

Don't forget to tune in on Friday, when I'll be doing my “Live from TechEd“ webcast on Identity Management in ASP.NET. Or, if you're out here, drop by and see me at the WSE booth in the exhibit hall.
