Today I was forwarded this AMR research paper
A couple of interesting sentences, that I believe I heard somewhere already, but where… J
One of the biggest misunderstandings regarding the evolution of companies toward service-oriented architecture (SOA) is all that’s needed is to buy an SOA product. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. SOA is not a single product: it is an architectural approach designed to support maximum flexibility and reuse of existing assets.
Given the distributed nature of a composite application, an SOA without MDM [master data management] would be neither manageable nor scalable.
The paper is still using the ESB terminology, I guess it will take a bit longer before this will go away as well 🙂
