There seem to be no Prometric test center that offers this exam. I checked about a dozen of test centers in southeastern Pennsylvania and none had it available.

  2. Mathias says:

    Hi Gerry,

thanks for extending the test period. I just tried to register, but the exam is not in the exam list.

  3. Tibi says:

The exam is not on the Prometrics list of available exams. (not as 071, nor 070).

  4. Great!

but i’ve just tried to schedule 71-433 and it not appears in the prometric’s list of available exams (today is sunday 12 october).

    Are there limitations for italy?

  5. Raul Santos says:

    Hi Gerry,

I’ve just gone to Prometric website and we don’t have the 71-433 option anymore. Do you know if Prometric has some delay for "re-include" this exame for this week or if we’ll need to schedule directly on some training center?

  6. Sorry everyone, this one is our fault.  We made the decision to extend this, I posted here about it, but we failed to notify Prometric in time.

I expect it to be available today for registration.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  7. Raul Santos says:

The exam is now appearing on the Prometric list, but the PROMO CODE is not valid anymore (F589G).

  8. Maksym says:

    Hi Gerry,

I get the "Promotion not found." error message when validating promotioninal code.

I have tried the "F589G" promotional code.

    Kind regards,

  9. Joyce says:

    Hi Gerry,

I see the exam offered in Prometric Australia but the promotional code does not work. Has this expired?

  10. Marcelo says:

Gerry, I´m trying to schedule, but the Prometric website respond as a Timeout Expired at Voucher Number or Promotion Code webpage.

    Hi Gerry,

Any guess when the exam will go live ?

The prep guide states "It is expected to be released in October 2008.",

But those prep guides seem to be written by Microsoft biggest optimists, so i think end of November, maybe ?

  19. Hi Rob,

I can always guess, and then be wrong, which I typically am on my guessing.

What is more disturbing is when I "know" what the release date is, publish that, and then have to take a step back because something happened in the dev process that has delayed the release.

So, the correct answer is that at this time, it is scheduled, note that I said scheduled, to be released on December 10, 2008.

There are some issues that we are dealng with around the content for this exam as well as a few other issues that I can’t go into that are delaying other exams as well.

I’m also glad to know that you think I am one  of Microsoft’s biggest optimists.   🙂

Could you please provide us the expected/scheduled dates for the following exams:

    Go-live of: 70-450, 70-451 and 70-433

    Beta of : 71-564, 71-565 and 71-505

It would be great if you can provide a deicated blog entry for the status updates. It is very difficult to go through all your blogs to get a feel of these dates.

I know it is very difficult to provide exact dates. All I am looking for is some visibility into the dates and to be aware of the changes if any as and when it happens. And of course, a quick way to get at the information.

  21. Hi Titus,

In theory this sounds like a good idea.  Practically it doesn’t make sense.  It would take far too much time to post all this information and keep it up to date and quite frankly, I just don’t have that kind of time.

The dates shift for various reasons and while it would be nice to provide visibility into that, I just do not have the bandwidth for doing so.

We have two locations where beta exams are announced now.  Here on my blog and on the new beta exam blog, http://blogs.technet.com/betaexams/default.aspx.

I will set myself a reminder to try and provide updates on a weekly basis, but I make no promises.

  22. tarul@hotmail.com says:

    I understand the difficulties.

I believe my post was not clear.

Though the betaexams blog provides announcements, you are our primary source of information on the status updates. Without your blogs and responses, we would have no clue. I really appreciate the time you put on these.

Currently, we ask about the dates in postings all over your blog and you respond.

I didn’t mean to ‘create a separate blog’; I just meant a separate entry/post/thread in your blog so that we can quickly look at that single entry to see if you have any updates (if at all).

Also, I didn’t mean to imply that you should be providing periodic updates. Sorry, if my response implied otherwise.

Could you please provide the expected/scheduled dates for those exams at this time?

  23. Hi Titus,

You’re right, the dates are all over the blog.  It’s sort of like a treasure hunt.  🙂

That’s why I thought a weekly update would be a good idea.  Of course, dates may not change but at least I can post when they do.

So, I’ll create a new post for today, that will include updated "expected" dates for the current exams we have in stream.

    Hi Gerry,

I would like to know if installing SQL Server 2008 Express (Free) Edition is good enough to prepare and study for Exam 70-433: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Database Development, or should I use a more advanced version of SQL Server 2008?

  25. Onin,

I would recommend either the developer or standard edition for preparing for the exam.
