In less than 24 hours, Microsoft will release to the web a new and simple way for beginning web developers, and those who you might not normally think of as likely users of Microsoft tools to quickly build, publish, and update web applications, whether in ASP.NET or PHP, and whether built from scratch, or customized from a library of available open source applications.
On Thursday, January 13th, Microsoft will officially launch Microsoft WebMatrix at the CodeMash Conference in Sandusky, Ohio. But you don’t need to be at CodeMash to take part. We’ll be streaming the launch live at www.microsoft.com/web/enter, starting at 12:30pm EST.
Tune in to see what all the fuss is about.
And if you’d like to see Microsoft WebMatrix a little more up-close and personal, I’ll be presenting twice in the DC area on the topic next week. First, for PHP folks, I’ll be showing off how you can quickly and easily download, customize, and publish sites based on WordPress, Joomla!, and other popular PHP applications at the Baltimore PHP Meetup group in Columbia, MD next Wednesday, January 19th, at 6:30pm.
The following night I’ll be at the Capital Area Cloud Computing User Group in Alexandria, VA, giving a high-level overview of Microsoft WebMatrix and what it brings to the table for developers of all stripes. That meeting starts at 6:30pm.
Hope to see you at one of the upcoming events or catch you online!
