iMo 7” USB Sub-Monitor Unboxing

I’m a big fan of multi-monitor as a way of getting a broader view of all the applications I’m working with at any given time. I have 4 monitors on my primary desktop machine, so when I’m on the road it can be difficult to deal with the limitation of a single laptop monitor.

Enter the iMo 7” USB sub-monitor. I recently picked up a couple of these at a great price during a woot-off for use with my laptop(s) while I’m on the road. Since I know many of my readers are gadget fans, I figured I’d do a quick unboxing video, to show how the monitor works, and what you might use it for. The video is below…enjoy!

It’s so cute and small.  Dude! You put your TWITTER in it, right? :o)

I have the 710S, which is the folding portable one. My only issue with it is that it doesn’t work with Windwos 2008 or 2008 R2, which I have on my laptop so I can do SharePoint 2010 dev. Most Win 7 64-bit drivers seem to work for me, so it’s a little annoying.

Works great on my other Win 7 laptop, though.

No, haven’t stuck a twiter client on it yet. I’ve got 3 different accounts I’m monitoring in sobees, so it would be a bit tough to read on the small display.

But I used it today at the MSDN Roadshow to keep my powerpoint notes and demo notes on, and it worked great for that.
