Tuesday night is not a night to rest but a night to join us for a RESTful evening of learning about a different approach to web services. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 6:30 PM: Hampton Roads .NET Users Group - May Meeting
Crafting software is one of the most rewarding and challenging tasks that one can engage in. As Fred Brooks said in “The Mythical Man Month”:
“The programmer, like the poet, works only slightly removed from pure thought-stuff. He builds his castles in the air, from air, creating by exertion of the imagination”.
Building software is exciting because we truly are limited only by our imaginations, creativity, and the occasional budget. But this can be a problem as well. With an infinite level of paths in front of us, which direction do we take? How do we know if we are taking the right path? In this talk we are going to look at a few strategies for large system design, and discuss some ways in which we can make our systems better.
