I like Camtasia Studio. It’s a very useful tool for recording screencasts, as well as for editing and producing video. All of my DevNugget videos have been recorded and produced using Camtasia.
But one thing that’s missing for me is the ability to output Silverlight-optimized video (or better yet, video with a Silverlight player wrapper). For that, I have to take the Windows Media Video (or AVI) output from Camtasia Studio, import it into Expression Encoder 2, then re-encode the video.
While I like Encoder, and the player templates it has to offer, and with a plug-in, I can automatically upload my videos to the Silverlight Streaming service, it would be nice to be able to do all this with just one tool, which would save me a significant amount of time.
Betsy’s blog post is here.
If you’re like me and would love to be able to produce straight to Silverlight, you can jump to the survey here.
