Not At PDC?

Many of you are probably aware that Microsoft is running a little event for developers this week called PDC. Some of you may already be there, but given the number of developers in the U.S. compared to the size of the LA Convention Center, it’s a good bet that many of you are not.

If so, you’re not alone. I’m in DC this week, helping host and present at the TechDays DC event.

Several other folks, including Chris Love, Rachel Appel, David Penton, Steve Andrews, and others (you can see a list of the participants here) have cooked up another cool way to get in the game with PDC and share cool developer information without going anywhere. The idea came out of a conversation on Twitter, and became NotAtPDC.

The idea is that you can find out about cool news coming from PDC via the NotAtPDC twitter feed. You can also join the NotAtPDC facebook group. And last, but not least, they’ve set up a web site where you can get additional information, including a list of presentations planned via Microsoft LiveMeeting.

The presentations are starting this evening, and no registration is required (though you can register for a given session if you like to help them plan capacity). And if you’ve got some developer info you’d like to share, you can contact the organizers and offer to present a session of your own!

So if you’re not at PDC, you can join the conversation via NotAtPDC.

And, of course, you can catch streaming video of the PDC keynotes, and much more at the official PDC site as well.

And if you’re interested in seeing some of the latest and greatest stuff that’s being announced at PDC in your local area, I’ll have more to share about that later this week…stay tuned!
