Silverlight 1.1 Gets Input Controls in Latest Refresh

 Frank noticed something I didn't:

The latest update to Silverlight 1.1 (September Alpha Refresh) includes something that previous versions sorely lacked: controls.

That's right, the latest bits of Silverlight 1.1 includes input controls.

Here's what you get with the refresh.

  • Button
  • RepeatButton
  • ListBox
  • ScrollBar
  • ScrollViewer
  • Slider

Download the bits now.

Given that lack of in-box controls is one of the few knocks I've heard on Silverlight, this is terrific news. I can't wait to play with the new bits.

    Actually those are not intrinsic controls, they’re custom controls included with the SDK.

    And we still want to see some input controls…

    And some layout controls before RTM (My Kingdom For A StackPanel)…

    I have used Silverlight 1.1 September Refresh. They all are custom controls given in SDK and they are not as easy as silverlight controls(i.e. rectangle, canvas, Textblock). We really need such control and still waiting when microsoft will include these controls in silverlight1.1.

    @Kevin, @Adnan,

    Let me ping some folks and see what I can find out. I’m sure you’d agree, though, that additional controls in the SDK are better than no controls at all. 🙂
