The coolness of ubiquitous connectivity

So I'm waiting at a Cheesecake Factory in suburban Maryland to meet someone for lunch, and since they're running a little late, I decided to try to get some work done. Thanks to my Treo 700w Pocket PC Phone and a little bit of software goo, I can get DSL-comparable connectivity via EVDO.

Which means that I can check email, blog, etc., rather than just twiddling my thumbs. So while there are times when I wonder whether being available 24/7 via email, cellphone, etc. is a good thing overall, there are other times when it's a pretty big winner. Here's to technology!
