WinProTeam Vienna – Sahil Malik's meeting of WinProTeam Vienna was a good overview of data access in .net by Sahil Malik. The talk was well-received and thorough, including some good advice, including "Don't screw up connection pooling" (my personal favorite). Sahil's promised to send the slides to the folks at WinProTeam, and I'll update this post with a link once they're available.

I also had a chance to break in my new camera at the meeting, so I figured I'd post a few shots. As one might expect, a better camera doesn't necessarily mean better pictures (when the photographer is the bottleneck), but I don't think they're too bad for a first attempt (with a little tweaking in Digital Image Pro):

Sahil acts out a scene from Oliver! "Please, sir, can I have some more ADO.NET?":

UPDATE: Sahil's slides from this presentation are now available on the WinProTeam website.
