OK. I know that title sounds a little grandiose. But I wanted to plug the new SDM Developer Center, and figured that grandiose was appropriate, given the vision of the Dynamic Systems Initiative, for which the System Definition Model, or SDM, is a critical component.
SDM provides the ability to model and capture information about enterprise systems on a number of levels, from the application level, to the datacenter level. It’s also the underpinning of the designers in the Team Edition for Architects piece of Visual Studio Team System. SDM is also intended to support eventual automation of tasks that today are often done manually, such as deployment of custom enterprise applications.
So if you want to know what the future may hold for system modeling and deployment automation, you may want to bookmark the SDM Developer Center.
