Patterns & Practices Summit

Spending the day in the star-studded Patterns & Practices summit at our local Microsoft Technology Center here in Reston, VA. So far, it's been excellent, and makes me really bummed that I'm only able to be here for the first day (of three), as I'm traveling later in the week.

So far, we've had a presentation on how the US military is taking advantage of mobile technologies to improve medical treatment on the battlefield, Keith Pleas talking about overall application architecture, Jim Newkirk talking about Test-Driven Development, and currently Ron Jacobs talking about SOA patterns (and anti-patterns) and the Microsoft Enterprise Development Reference Architecture. And day one isn't even finished! Also on the speaker list:

But what if you can't make it to Reston? Well, a little birdie told me that the gang that put this summit together is working on a similar event they're planning for the west coast some time in the spring. I'll be sure to post an announcement once the event is finalized, and you can also check Keith's blog, and hopefully he'll announce there as well.
