A small bit of clout for Sony and the Playstation 3

I just was looking at these screenshots and it reminded me of the first time that I played the Playstation 2.  I was unimpressed.  The PS2 was good, but it was nothing compared to what Sony promised it would be.  I expect the PS3 to deliver on a similar chord.  And from what I've read recently on blogs, it seems the PS3 will not come out for a few more months at least.

I'd like to mention that Sony's Phil Harrison will be giving the GDC (Game Developer's Conference) keynote speech and I anticipate again that Sony will be making bold claims -- claims I feel should be taken with a grain of salt.  Even before Phil gives the keynote, Ken Kutaragi will be talking with the press.

We'll see tomorrow what the 360 will face in terms of next generation competition.

Update:

A delay is eminent.  One more Christmas with the 360 as the only next-gen console in Europe at least.  "There aren't many details out right now, but Sony says issues over the finalization of copy protection technology related to their Blu-ray disc drive is the cause of the delay. "  Which rings true to a previous entry in my blog.
