Let's get the party started!

I'm now a new employee for Microsoft and am working on the Windows Media documentation (user education) as a programmer writer.  This is a really interesting position for me as I only have experience as a developer (software engineer).  Rather than just apply technology I'll need to use my ability to write as well as my ability to digest technology and apply it.  Even more interesting is that I will have a window into several emerging technologies before they reach fruition to consumers.

It looks as though my future role with Microsoft will be centered around their DRM technology, Windows Media Digital Rights Management for Network Devices (WMDRM-ND for those who love acronyms).  So far I have digested the next iteration of the essential WMDRM-ND whitepaper and have integrated some documentation that has previously been scattered into other specifications.  I also have begun to take on documentation for the next version of Windows Media Plays for Sure technology -- you know, the technology behind being able to plug a personal media player (PMP) into an XBOX 360 and streaming media straight off of it.  I finally have been working on the next version of the Media Center Extender technology which allows a Windows Media Center to access their media from a TV without hooking their computer up to the TV.

Going forward I'll try to write about any interesting news that comes up regarding the technologies I'm working on or document any caveats or gotchas that I find some decent work arounds for.  Feel free to comment with any questions, raves, rants, I'll try to address comments as much as time allows.

Regards!
