WSS 3.0 Developer content

For a long time we've been showing SharePoint developers "no love" in Microsoft Learning. Well this year that's going to change. A while back I posted our training product roadmap which includes several waves of SharePoint developer products. I am happy to say that the first wave of products has hit. We've just shipped the first of two 12-hour collections on WSS 3.0 custom site development, Collection 5385: Developing Solutions with Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Visual Studio 2005 . This training is really going to teach you the nuts and bolts of developing SharePoint sites, in addition to preparing you for the 70-541 exam. We've worked hard with the SharePoint team including Mike Fitzmaurice in order to bring you this content.

Within the courses you will learn about the following capabilities WSS provides to developers.

  • Server and Site Objects
  • Security
  • Lists and List Events
  • Documents and Libraries
  • List Metadata and Content Types
  • Navigation and Layout

Each course includes access to virtual lab that lets you work with different aspects of WSS. So if you've been wrestling to get the SharePoint developer environment setup, we've done the heavy lifting for you.

If you need to work on current SharePoint projects or are thinking about SharePoint dev in the future, then I strongly advise you check these out. And if your not thinking about using SharePoint and you are an ASP.NET developer, then now is a good time to start ;)
