Academic Days on Business Applications, Relational Databases and Security

Aboard the Disney Wonder Cruise from November 1-4, 2007

Microsoft Academic Days on Business Applications, Relational Databases, and Security will be held aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship, November 1-4, 2007. The conference is co-branded with the Association for Information Systems (https://home.aisnet.org) and will feature a track about teaching cases run by the Journal of Information Technology.

The conference will feature presentations by faculty and industry experts exploring innovative ways to utilize ERP and CRM systems, database and reporting tools, and security technologies to reshape traditional information systems and business curricula across a number of traditional and non-traditional academic disciplines. Faculty from Information Systems, Computer Science, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Marketing and Accounting are invited to submit presentation abstracts in the following areas:

  • Relational Databases
  • Security
  • Business Intelligence
  • Digital Dashboards
  • ERP and CRM systems
  • Business Collaboration Tools
  • Data Mining and Warehousing
  • Reporting Services Integration

In addition, the Association for Information Systems (https://home.aisnet.org) and will feature a track about teaching cases run by the Journal of Information Technology for which submissions should be e-mailed to L.P.Willcocks@lse.ac.uk on topic

  • Teaching Cases and Innovation in Teaching

The abstract submissions process is open from Sept 4 through Sept 12 and the Notification of acceptance is Sept 17. Please send your abstracts via email to adbusapp@microsoft.com. Abstracts should include:

  • Title of Presentation
  • Abstract (300 words)
  • Contact Information
  • Short Biography (150 words or less)
  • Audio/Visual/Connectivity Requirements

The timeline for the conference is

  • 09/12/2007: Abstract Submission Deadline
  • 09/17/2007: Notification of acceptance
  • 09/13/2007: Registration Site Opens
  • 09/28/2007: Registration Site Closes
  • 10/31/2007: Attendees who require a hotel stay arrive in Orlando
  • 11/01/2007: Buses will depart from Orlando Hotels @ 9:00AM to the Disney Cruise Terminal in Port Canaveral (1 hour from Orlando)
  • 11/01/2007: Conference Begins at 12:300 PM aboard the Cruise Ship
  • 11/04/2007: Transportation will be provided from the Disney Wonder to the Orlando Airport.
