Back to the Animated Future, This Time on DVD
SANTA MONICA, Calif. — As far back as 2002, a yearbefore the last original Sunday night episode of “Futurama” wasbroadcast on Fox, it was clear to the show’s creators, Matt Groening andDavid X. Cohen, that their show was about to be history. An animated vision ofthe 30th century, it was a brightly colored world populated by larcenousrobots; one-eyed, purple-haired mutants; space alien news anchors; and one veryconfused cryogenically frozen pizza delivery boy.
