Speaker badge for search engine romm

G’day to all of you who are visiting as a result of the Search Engine Room conference.

My panel session seemed to go well.  I will take credit to having inspired one person at least – Search Engine Room aka searchengineroom.

Big shoutout to my fellow panelists – Andrew Pascoe and Lee Odden, as well as to Martin Kelly for a terrific event.

It was really nice to finally meet Andrew Pascoe. As I said in my presentation, I have been reading his blog – Under The Rotunda – for ages and it is always good to meet the person behind the url.

I will pop my slides online in the next few days, but as a teaser – this was the outline

  • Why am I here?

  • Really – What am I doing here?

  • Blogs + Search = Visits

    • A case study on how blogging can work for a major corporate such as Microsoft.

  • Where do they come from ?

  • What are they looking for?

  • The Long Tail of Content!

  • What’s so great about blogs?

  • Trackbacks are good

  • Final Word

  • Get Started?

I also want to again acknowledge Hugh Macleod for his fantastic cartoons which featured prominently. Thanks Hugh!

For those who asked my t-shirt is from ThinkGeek

Finally, have a look at my speaker badge and see if you notice something weird!

it took me a while, but i’m bored at the airport and killing time so had another look – i thought for a while there my eyes were all blurry cos I’m over-tired or that my glasses were dirty, but then I realised thats jsut the photo. there’s a typo/mispelling in your last name..!

  2. frankarr says:

    well spotted sir!

yeah – the photo is a bit blurry. i blame my lack of any photography skills

  3. jorge says:

the typo’s nothing dood; the true anomaly is the two company names so close in the same badge! (well ms’s name’s not logoed so maybe less drama)

… well i could not point out the extra ‘i’ on your surname after pascoe, couldn’t i

    good night

  4. Lee Odden says:

Hi Frank and Andrew – It was a pleasure doing the panel with you. Your enthusiasm for blogging is inspirig, even for a blatant marketer like myself. 🙂

  5. Stefan says:

Hello Mr ArrigIo, I expect you’ll be seeing that spelling of your name in your inbound referring keyword reports before long as well.

As a member of the audience yesterday I’d like to thank you for a very informative presentation.

We’ve bookmarked your blog and will be sure to check in on you down the line.

  6. Could have sworn I had Sun dried Tomato and Lamb Arrigio the other night.
