NZ Developer AMBIENT DESIGN is No 1 Worldwide in Microsoft Tablet PC Contest

Those wacky kiwis are working themselves up into a lather - they didn't win the recent test series against Australia, but one of their local software development companies have won a worldwide contest for building applications for the Tablet PC.

Auckland-based (Waitekere) Ambient Design Ltd, creator of ArtRage, is the $100,000 grand prize winner of the Microsoft® Tablet PC "Does Your Application Think in Ink?" contest.  This was a worldwide a competition challenging developers to utilise the Tablet PC Software Developer Kit (SDK) 1.7 to create new applications or ink-enable existing Windows XP-based applications.

I blogged about this competiton back in March 2004. Good to finally see the results. However, I kinda disappointed Mitch Denny didn't compete.

For an in-depth look at the top 12 winning contestants and details about the competition, you can go to PC Magazine feature article, Apps That Think in Ink
