Just read an interesting article which Steve Clayton talked about over here.

I hadn't really thought about but with Hosted Exchange, Dynamic CRM, Office Live, Hotmail, SQL Data Services, SkyDrive, Live Mesh and all of the other things hosted in the cloud we certainly need a lot of servers and data centres to host all of the infrastructure necessary to offer these services.

So if you have some time free it's a good read.
