VS2008 SP1 Beta - my advice, get a good movie to watch :-)

Yesterday I set about installing SP1 Beta. I expected there to be a few problems as my machine was fully loaded with CTPs, Betas and hotfixes. Hence and rather unusually for me I read up on the issues other people had found and followed the best advice to the letter. Alas - I was never able to get a completely working install whilst leaving my initial install of VS2008 in place.

The good news, once I decided to uninstall VS2008 all went well.

Hence my recommendation would be:

- Uninstall Silverlight tools beta
- Uninstall any VS hotfixes
- Uninstall VS2008
- Install VS2008
- Install SP1 Beta

And in parallel, watch a good movie :-)
