My colleague and good friend Richard (https://blogs.msdn.com/rgodfrey/)  has been working with the developers of  www.shaxam.com who are doing some great stuff with WPF. Shaxam is a converter from Lightwave 3D to XAML and came about because the development team needed something a little more capable than Zam3D.
