You can run live applications on WinFX today – not a lot of people know that…

After a couple of recent discussions I have realised that only a few of our early adopters spotted that we have created a go-live license for WinFX – hence worth mentioning here. Specifically we announced in january a go-live licence for the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF).

What does this mean? Simply that we’re allowing you to deploy these two specific technologies in a live environment. Up to now the EULA has specifically prevented that, so although there was no technical block to prevent you from deploying live you would be breaking the terms of their licence if you did so.

You don’t have to “apply” for a go-live licence. There is wording in the EULA that lets you deploy live.  Note: we aren’t providing support – just permitting live usage.
