WinFX will be available for Windows XP and Windows 2003 - good news for ISVs.

With the recent announcements on Longhorn came some delightful news for ISVs - the news that we will be bringing WinFX (Avalon and Indigo) to Windows XP and 2003. This allows an ISV to build an application which utilisies these great technologies with the confidence that there will be many desktops and servers out there which can run their application. We are also now firmly date driven on Longhorn - which means ISVs can plan now for a release of our new O.S. with WinFX in 2006.

The flip side is WinFS will only be in beta when longhorn ships... which is a shame...
