Version Control Useful Document: Team Foundation Branching Guidance

相信很多使用 Team Foundation Server 的人對於使用手冊的說明大概會覺得限於功能介紹, 真正上手要用時, 可能還是有不知從何著手的困難, 所謂萬事起頭難, 拿到一本車主使用手冊不代表就會開那部車, 首先還是要到駕訓班讓教練教一下再考個駕照才行. 導入 Team Foundation Server, 相信很多人一樣遇到有車但不會開的痛苦, 以往可能要靠自己摸索或到處問人, 但小弟前兩天看到 Jeff Beehler 在他的 blog 上宣布, TFS 的開發團隊正式在 CodePlex 上公布 Branching guidance for Team Foundation Server. 這個 guidance 補足了使用手冊的不足, 增加了許多 branching practices 和 stategies 甚至還有 End to End scenarios, 簡言之, 就是除了給大家釣竿, 還要教大家如何釣魚! 只是目前我只看到 branching, 希望以後我們會看到其它 tfs feature 的 guidance.

另外, 文件公布在 CodePlex 上也代表歡迎大家給 feedbacks 喔, 如果你是 version control 的高手, 也請不吝提供您寶貴的意見.

對了, 如果你不大清楚 CodePlex 是什麼, 在 CodePlex 網頁上的第一句話就有說明: "CodePlex is Microsoft's open source project hosting web site." 它是微軟 open source project 的 web site. :)
