Trivia: What are these the names of?

What are these the names of?

  • Norma

  • Orion

  • Perseus

  • Cygnus

There are two answers, one commonplace (ie one that I knew), and one quite a bit more obscure. I'm looking for the obscure one...

  1. Ed Kaim says:

Those are the pen names I use when writing op-ed pieces for Redbook.

By the way, you left out Nathaniel and Superfly.

  2. Jeff Parker says:

Well one thing I know of is they are all constellations, I believe all of them are some form of greek mythology as well. I know Orion, Perseus, Cygnus are in Greek Mythology but Never Heard of Norma on any Greek Mythology I remember.

  3. Well, they’re constellations all right. But Norma isn’t based on Greek mythology. It is Latin for a right square, a carpenter’s tool.

  4. Larry Smith says:

Project Orion was an idea of Freeman Dyson’s. It involved using atomic bombs, exploding on the underside of a (very well!!!) padded ship, to propel it into space without the need for rockets, fuel, etc.

And you thought L.A. smog was bad!
