Serenity the Movie

The trailer for Serenity was released today.

I really enjoyed Firefly a bunch - it had a different feel than most of the other sci-fi that's made it to television, and it looks like Joss Whedon (of Buffy fame) will be able to bring the same feel to the silver screen (and the 5.25 cm silver disc as well).

  1. I used to watch Buffy, and I loved his work there. He also began to do storylines for comics recently, his latest work being a stint on the new X-Men book titled "Astonishing X-Men" (as opposed to Uncanny). The storyline, needless to say, was pretty astonishing.

Did anyone notice there are two cast members from "Andromeda"?

  2. It does look good. I certainly hope it won’t be as bad as the made-for-TV movie to tie-off "Farscape". There was another sci-fi show with that different feel you mentioned that made it so much more fascinating, fun, and out-of-this world. It seemed a much more tangible "future" than Star Trek.

Rumor has it that if "Serenity" does well Universal will pick up the show for 2 seasons. Here’s to hope (clink)!

    Say what? Which two?

Having trouble waiting. Firefly is still one of the best SciFi series. The only thing I’ve enjoyed as much is the new Battlestar Galactica series.

I still reserve the right to slap Joss Whedon for giving Firefly to Fox. What was he thinking?
